Unlocking Urban Resilience
The Cool Neighbourhoods Project aims to enhance urban resilience, address climate challenges, and improve liveability in cities across the Interreg North-West Europe regions (NWE). As part of this initiative, a Comparative PESTLE/SWOT Analysis of Nine Pilot Areas has been developed, offering an overarching view of the opportunities and challenges faced across diverse urban environments. This comprehensive analysis highlights shared themes such as political stability, socio-economic diversity, and technological innovation, alongside specific barriers like fragmented landscapes and regulatory complexities. It serves as a strategic tool for decision-makers to replicate successful approaches and adapt strategies to their local contexts.
In addition to the comparative analysis, individual PESTLE/SWOT Reports have been prepared for each pilot, providing detailed insights into the unique characteristics and potential of the respective locations. These reports delve into the political, economic, social, technological, environmental, and legal factors affecting each pilot, as well as their strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats.
